Terms of Service

The terms that govern your use of Lanetti hosting, domains and related services.

Last updated: June 2026

1. Provider & agreement

The Service is provided by Maximum Effort Ay (Maximum Effort Avoin Yhtiö), a Finnish general partnership (Business ID 2937256-1, VAT FI29372561), registered at Wärtsilänkatu 4 A 26, 04410 Järvenpää, Finland, operating the “Lanetti” hosting service (the “Service”).

By creating an account, placing an order or using the Service, you (the “Customer”) enter into a binding agreement with Maximum Effort Ay and accept these Terms of Service. If you act on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to bind it.

These terms apply alongside our Privacy Policy, Acceptable Use Policy, Cookie Policy, Service Level Agreement, Refund & Cancellation Policy, Domain Registration Terms and, where personal data is processed on your behalf, our Data Processing Agreement.

2. Accounts & eligibility

You must provide accurate registration and billing information and keep it current. You are responsible for safeguarding your credentials and for all activity under your account.

Services are offered to consumers and to business customers. Some products are available to business customers only, as indicated at checkout.

3. Orders & order confirmation

Products are ordered through the website or control panel. An agreement is formed when your order is paid through one of the available payment methods, after which we send an order confirmation by email listing the ordered products and price.

We reserve the right to refuse or cancel an order in cases of suspected fraud, abuse, pricing errors or breach of these terms.

4. Prices, billing & renewals

Prices are shown in euros. For consumers, prices include Finnish VAT (currently 25.5%); business prices may be shown exclusive of VAT. We reserve the right to change prices and terms, with changes to recurring fees notified before they take effect.

Paid plans are billed in advance on a monthly or annual cycle and renew automatically until cancelled. Upgrades take effect immediately and are prorated; downgrades take effect at the next billing cycle.

Domain registrations, renewals and transfers are billed per registry pricing and are generally non-refundable once submitted. Late or failed payments may lead to suspension and, after a grace period, termination and data deletion.

5. Right of withdrawal & cancellation

Consumers in the EU have a statutory 14-day right of withdrawal. Where you ask us to begin a digital service immediately and acknowledge the loss of the withdrawal right once performance has started, the right ceases accordingly. Domain registrations are excluded from the right of withdrawal because they are provisioned immediately and individualised.

Cancellation, refund and proration details are set out in our Refund & Cancellation Policy.

6. Acceptable use & suspension

You agree to use the Service lawfully and in line with our Acceptable Use Policy. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, infringe third-party rights, or pose a security, legal or operational risk to the platform or other customers.

7. Customer content & backups

You retain all rights to the content and data you host. You grant us the limited right to store, process and transmit it solely to operate the Service.

You are responsible for maintaining your own backups. While we provide backup features, we are not liable for data loss to the extent you could reasonably have mitigated it with your own backups.

8. Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, control panel, design and trademarks, remains the property of the Provider and its licensors. These terms grant you no rights in our intellectual property beyond using the Service as intended.

If you send us suggestions or feedback, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free right to use them to improve the Service.

9. Availability & service levels

We target 99.9% uptime as described in our Service Level Agreement. Except as stated there and as required by law, the Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.

10. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under mandatory law, including a consumer's statutory rights under the Finnish Consumer Protection Act.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability for the Service is limited to the fees you paid for the affected service during the three (3) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.

Neither party is liable for failure to perform caused by events beyond its reasonable control (force majeure), such as outages of upstream networks, power, natural disasters or acts of authorities.

11. Term & termination

Either party may terminate a service at the end of its billing cycle in accordance with the Refund & Cancellation Policy. We may terminate immediately for material breach or unlawful use.

On termination, your right to use the Service ends and hosted data may be deleted after the retention period described in our Privacy Policy.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms to reflect changes in our services or the law. Material changes are notified by email or in the control panel before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

13. Governing law & disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Finland. Disputes are resolved by the competent Finnish courts.

Consumers may also refer a dispute to the Finnish Consumer Disputes Board (kuluttajariita.fi) after first contacting the Finnish Competition and Consumer Authority's consumer advisory service (kkv.fi). The EU Online Dispute Resolution platform is available at ec.europa.eu/odr.
